Run for Their Lives 2009
Well today I had a really fun time at PAWS Chicago Run for Their Lives 2009, a fund raising festival held at Montrose Harbor to help homeless animals.
When we got to the event, Mommy gave me a little piece of HOT DOG! And then she said she had more hot dogs in her pocket for if I am a good girl. Well you know hot dogs are my favorite food so I was very interested in earning more.
The main events were an 8k run for people, and a 4k walk for people and dogs. Mommy and I entered the 4k walk together. The weather was perfect. It was sunny and about 70 degrees with a nice breeze off the lake. I was really good on the walk, but I like walking so that wasn't too hard. I did not get any more hot dogs though.

After the walk I was glad to have a chance to lie down. We checked out the Jesse White Tumblers. But I kept an eye on Mommy because she had hot dogs in her pocket and I'm pretty sure those tumblers did not have any hot dogs on them.
Wow the tumblers are amazing! And that strange dog is performing tricks with them. Hope he got some hot dogs afterward.
After the tumblers were finished, they announced it was time for the costume contest over the loudspeaker. Mommy got all our things and ran to the stage. "Uh-oh, what kind of crazy scheme does Mommy have this time?" I wondered.
Mommy whipped something out of her tote bag and all of a sudden I was transformed into Lady Gaga! I guess that is a perfect fit since we are both famous and both divas!

Separated at birth?
Once I had my costume on, the hot dog pieces FINALLY started flowing.
Personally, I think I look better as a redhead.
Then I saw that the contest judges were from Tails in the City which is the fanciest dog clothing store in Chicago. I knew the judges had fierce fashion sense and it would not be easy to impress them.
Then I had to go on stage and Mommy was worried I would get stage fright but who can think about that when there are hot dogs available? On stage I danced on my back feet so I would look just like Lady Gaga in concert.
Then they announced the winners and I am very excited to share I won first place in the Most Creative category! I made a ton of fans. After the contest I was surrounded by people taking pictures of me on their phones. One lady said even my face looks like Lady Gaga's. I guess those acting lessons are paying off.

OMD... we are dying. You are way way cooler and prettier than lady gaga and probably 100% female UNLIKE "lady" gaga. It was very nice of you to let her dress up like you for her event. If we were showed this in a "who wore it better" in a magazine we'd pick you of course!

We LOVES this! Your Mom needs to lend her creativities to my Mom cause last year she dressed me ups like a turtle (LAME!)
P.S. I likes you better as a redhead too!

Pumpkin, no one can pull off a white-blond wig and a bubble dress like you!

Those were agility humans for sure, but I agree that it seems like an awful lot of work for no hot dogs.
Ah, the old Gaga outfit. Always an attention getter.
Slobbers,
